I say yes. 2 10-year terms max, with approval by the Senate each time. This also enables them to outlast any president that appoints them, so it maintains some freedom, if they choose to use it.
But we can't have people like Scalia throwing his weight around for 30 years, and do you think John Roberts would be pulling his garbage if he was in danger of losing his job next year? Of course not.

I agree, but that's the kind of change that has no chance of ever happening with the Teabaggers locking up the legislative process.

There's nothing stopping Dem House members from calling for impeachment now, and for this Constitutional Amendment as a platform to run on in 2014. I think it's a winner, and at least gives people a glimpse into what they can do, because far too many think nothing can be done.
