As I noted in a comment in the Journal -Sentinel, Kooyenga himself is responsible for the increasing number of people subject to the AMT because of the tax-bracket compression and the change in tax rates below the AMT rate. If he didn't notice this potential problem two years ago, why on earth would anyone trust him to develop a "revenue neutral" fix? (Somewhere in the J-S article is a hint that such a fix would be effective only for this biennium, by the way.)
