It is a lot of fun to see that defense dominate like they have. There were at least two 3rd-and-long plays where the Gophs gave up and called run-option plays that had ZERO chance of getting a first down...because throwing the ball would likely have been worse for them via either INT or sack!
Now we get to the toughest test on Saturday vs the Buckeyes, but it's been a pretty fun ride so far. And 14 straight wins over your closest geographical rival is something that should be cherished.
Can you imagine if WisGOP politicians cared as much about Wisconsin beating Minnesota in its economy and in other parts of higher education, as they did for the Badgers laying the smack down on the Gophers in football?
I was surprised there was no post regarding the unemployment rates between MN and WI discussing how MN last month fell to 3.3%(drop of .4%) unemployment rate while showing a loss of 4500 jobs while WI showed 3.4%(drop of .5%) after a gain of 9500 jobs...I'm not sure how that's possible unless each state's participation rate is moving around so much or seasonal hiring/industries are changing staffing levels although some numbers could be adjusted/non adjusted that might make more sense overall. Just thought the numbers were interesting for October.

DeleteEmployment/unemployment is a household survey and smaller amount of people. "Jobs" totals are from payrolls. Earlier in the year, Minnesota was greatly outpacing Wis in "jobs", but Wisconsin was seeing unemployment drop.
I'm waiting for the QCEW next week to get a better idea on what might be more in line.
And here's an updated story from the Journal-Sentinel listing all of the local tax giveaways that are being given to Foxconn ON TOP OF what the state is giving it.

The local governments also will give Foxconn $100 million – in annual payments of $10 million beginning in 2024 – as part of the local incentive package.

They article also counts on the TID for the Foxconn land not being paid off for at 5 years, which means local taxpayers are shelling out in the meantime. And if Racine County doesn't boom in population (and it won't), the typical resident will be paying more for those extra services for a LONNNNG time.
And you wonder why Kenosha said they didn't want to be on the hook for this thing?
