As unemployment looms, Walker pleads for wingnut welfare

This news was unsurprising and eye-rolling, yet is also remarkably pathetic.
Departing Gov. Scott Walker told supporters Tuesday he would be giving speeches, emphasizing tax cuts and working to re-elect President Donald Trump after Walker leaves office next week.

The Republican governor's email to his backers was short on specifics, saying he would "be involved with a number of excellent organizations" without naming them or saying what he would do for them….

Walker wrote that he will live in the Milwaukee area but travel around the country. He has signed on with a speaker's bureau and asked supporters to consider hiring him for "meetings, conferences and other events."
Allow me to translate that. SCOTT WALKER IS LEAVING OFFICE ON MONDAY AND STILL HASN’T FOUND HIS FIRST REAL JOB.

As someone accurately commented on social media, if Walker had been offered a job, he’d have made sure we heard all about it. Bottom line is that Scotty has never had an original idea in his head, and that his only “skills” are reading lines written for him by oligarchs and GOP big-wigs, and lacking any ethics beyond asking “is this hurting me in the polls?” That doesn't translate to a lot of marketability outside of politics.

Scotty's email practically screams “PLEASE PAY ME! I’LL SHOW UP AT ANY EVENT YOU WANT AND SAY HOW GREAT YOU ARE. PLEEEEAAASEEE!!”

And what will Scotty be paid by fellow right-wing slime to speak about?
He wrote that he would focus on cutting taxes, overhauling the tax code and shifting power from the federal government to the states — "the best way to Drain the Swamp on a permanent basis."
Actually Scotty, cashing checks from the same oligarchs that you gave WEDC handouts, wage suppression and tax cuts to is the definition of the self-enriching, inner-circle “Swamp”.

Isn’t it also funny how Walker claims that he is all about shifting power from the federal government to the states? He wasn’t so keen about shifting power to local communities as Governor, especially when it came to items like minimum wages, pollution controls, or collective bargaining rights of local public employees. Or more than 100 other things that might have gotten in the way of the agenda of WisGOP and their corporate puppetmasters?

January 7 can’t get here fast enough, can it? And sadly, it’ll be well past January 7 or any other date in 2019 before we can thoroughly clean up the mess left in the State Capitol by this crooked, grifting Dropout of a Governor. And while we deal with the fallout and do the hard work to get the state back on track, Scotty will be trying to cash checks on the wingnut welfare circuit.

I said that this was the Walker 2018 campaign's theme song. But it's really the summary of this guy's entire existence.

  1. Further translations:

“I will be involved with a number of excellent organizations” means “I got 1 or 2 groups to say they’d give me a call if they couldn’t find anyone else.”

“I will be living in the Milwaukee area” means I’m not divulging my exact location because I won’t have my state-funded bodyguards anymore.”

“Consider hiring me for meetings, conferences, and other events” means “Heck, I’ll even do children’s birthday parties. I’m pretty good with balloon animals.”
