Jan 7 - A New Hope?

Just wandered around the Capitol. Looks like a better place today.

I got done with work after the swearing in, but it looked like a lot of people wanted to wish Tony well

Swung by my AssemblyWoman's office, but she was getting sworn in at the time. So I grabbed this cake pop souvenir.

Now I'm chilling at an establishment on the Square, and walked right into a remote radio broadcast. Dylan is on the sound system with "The Times They Are a Changin'", and there's at least some hope for a place that has been so besmirched over the last 8 years.

There's a long way back, and a whole lot of ALEC-GOPs in the Legislature are paid to keep that restoration from happening. It's not going to be fun at times, but at least the good guys have a chance, and that's better than what we had 3 months ago.

Let's do it!

  1. I loved Governor Evers’ speech. Yes, it was positive and optimistic, as I expected...but not Pollyanna-ish. It was ballsy of him to add the not-so-subtle references to the horrid era which preceded him, especially with the dopey-eyed, open-mouthed, deposed dictator sitting just feet away from him. He was basically telling the Republicans in the legislature: “I want to work with you...but I will NOT take your crap.”

    1. Kaul wasn't even subtle about it, saying DOJ was going in a new direction from that crook Schimel.

It's the right tone from Evers. We have a lot of shared values that shouldn't be ideological. But Republicans have made it partisan and ideological by not caring about the 3nvironment or decency or voting rights. And therefore, they have to be taken on so the majority of us can advance.

Evers was right to subtly say "We are not Fitzwalkerstanis, we are Wisconsinites."
