Americans' confidence in the U.S. economy tilted slightly negative last week for the first time in 2017. Gallup's U.S. Economic Confidence Index was -1 for the week ending Oct. 15 -- down seven points from the previous week…
Gallup's U.S. Economic Confidence Index is the average of two components: how Americans rate current economic conditions and whether they feel the economy is improving or getting worse. The index has a theoretical maximum of +100 if all Americans were to say the economy is doing well and improving, and a theoretical minimum of -100 if all were to say the economy is doing poorly and getting worse.
Americans' waning confidence is largely attributable to a sharp decline in their outlook for the economy's future. For the week ending Oct. 15, 42% of national adults said the economy is "getting better" while 53% said it is "getting worse," resulting in an economic outlook score of -11. This is down from -3 the week prior and is, by one point, the lowest score for the outlook component in 2017 so far.
So wait, you’re telling me that the record highs in the stock market aren’t translating into more confidence from people about the economy? And that the prospect of more tax cuts for the rich aren’t something that are making the average American think things will get better? IMAGINE THAT!
It’s almost like those record highs are related to money being sent to Wall Street scumbuckets and being taken away from Main Street.

Almost…
Also out this week from Gallup, people aren’t buying that Trump amnd the GOP Congress are Making America Great Again. And even Republicans are starting to have their hopes in MAGA (whatever they were) fade quickly.
Americans' satisfaction with the way things are going in the U.S. has fallen to 21%, the lowest point since July 2016. Dissatisfaction with the government remains at the top of the list of most important problems in the country.
Gallup has been tracking the nation's mood since 1979, and the latest results are from an Oct. 5-11 poll. While readings on this measure have fluctuated throughout the years, Americans have been dissatisfied with the direction of the country for over 13 years, with less than a majority of U.S. adults saying they are satisfied since January 2004….
Past polling has shown a sizable partisan split on this question. Currently, 38% of Republicans, 11% of Democrats and 20% of independents are satisfied with the direction of the country. Republicans' satisfaction -- which showed the expected spike after Republican President Donald Trump took office -- has fallen from 55% in February, with most of the decline occurring by June.
But none of these bad trends will change under the current incompetent fools and thugs running the country (into the ground). You’d think “stop this madness”” would be a very good campaign message for anyone running in 2018. That includes calling out and ending corruption, ending this trickle-down BS that no one believes in, and being a DECENT FUCKING HUMAN BEING.
Seems pretty simple to me.
