October's COVID numbers were horrifying. Will voters do something about it?

The closer we've gotten to this country's elections, the worse Wisconsin's COVID-19 pandemic has become. And last week's numbers were the worst yet by far. Over 30,000 Wisconsinites got new positive tests, and just as alarming is the fact that the Wisconsin Department of Health Services says the number of people tested went down significantly last week. This means that of the Wisconsinites tested for COVID last week, over 30% (!) of them tested positive.
And as anyone could have sadly predicted when COVID cases started growing in September, October had a horrifying number of COVID deaths in Wisconsin. Over 700 Wisconsinites died of COVID in October, pushing the reported death toll past 2,000 on Halloween Day.
The quickening of COVID deaths in the state is so much that I think many of us can't comprehend how bad it has gotten. Through September, it had taken at least 9 days to have 100 additional deaths reported in Wisconsin. In October, we consistently saw 100 new deaths be reported in 3 days.
And yet a large number of Wisconsinites and basically the whole Wisconsin GOP has tried to ignore this disease and its breakout ahead of the election. So things have continued to get worse, and the state's economy will continue to be handcuffed as people aren't going to be willing to go to certain places because they don't want to be one of those COVID statistics.

There's no way this gets better until there are consequences given out to the WisGOPs that turned a blind eye to this mess, or worse, tried to sue the Governor any time he tried to do something about it. And unless Wisconsinites make EVERY ONE OF THEM PAY THIS WEEK for allowing this unneeded death and strains on our health system, it's not going to get better. Which will make for a horrid, depressing winter in a place where winters are already rough enough.
